Our services

Shore Meds provides home-based pharmacist services in Newcastle. A government-funded Home Medicines Review is available only under the applicable program rules and after a referral from an eligible medical practitioner. See the PPA Home Medicines Review program information. A Private Medication Education Session is a separately paid Shore Meds service. It is not a funded Home Medicines Review.

Private sessions

A private session is 60 minutes in the patient's home. We discuss medicines and questions, then send a summary to the referring or nominated doctor. We contact every patient before the visit. The price is available on enquiry. A deposit is required to confirm the visit, and we provide a tax invoice.

Travel within Newcastle is included. Travel beyond Newcastle may be available for an additional charge. We confirm any travel charge before booking.

A patient or referring practice may pay Shore Meds directly. We confirm the payment arrangement before the visit.

Clinical decisions

Our service supports discussion with your treating practitioners. Your doctor remains responsible for decisions about prescribing and your broader treatment plan.

Changes and consumer rights

If a visit needs to change, contact us by email. Please give at least 48 hours' notice. A cancellation fee may apply for shorter notice, and we disclose that fee before booking. These terms do not exclude rights under Australian Consumer Law.

Emergency care

Shore Meds is not an emergency service. For an emergency, call 000. For health advice, call healthdirect on 1800 022 222.
